Relatable Bad Days with: 'Alexander And The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day'

Hello, Fellow Picture Book Lovers! Ever had a bad day? Do you ever feel like no one understands what bad days feels like? Well not to fear! Alexander is here! He has been trough a lot and I am sure this book created by Judith Viorst will make readers feel relatable on how bad days really do make you feel all moody and want to make you move to australia.

The story starts with young Alexander waking up to an ominous start, finding gum stuck in his hair. From there, his day spirals downhill. At breakfast, his brothers get the prizes in their cereal boxes while he gets nothing. On the way to school, he’s squished in the car, and at school, he finds himself getting scolded and left out. Things don’t improve at lunchtime when his mom forgets to pack a dessert in his lunch bag, nor at the shoe store, where he learns they don’t have his favorite sneakers in his size.

As Alexander continues to face one small disappointment after another, he wishes he could escape his troubles by moving to Australia, imagining life would surely be better there. His bad luck persists, from his trip to the dentist to dinner, where lima beans (his least favorite food) are served, and even to bedtime, when his favorite nightlight burns out, her mother mentions that some days are just like that.

Through Alexander’s mishaps, readers learn a humorous and relatable lesson: some days are just tough, but they happen to everyone. The book reassures children that it's okay to feel overwhelmed and that even the worst days eventually end. Accompanied the expressive black-and-white illustrations, this heartfelt story captures the ups and downs of childhood with charm and wit. if you are curious and want to read more on the book for yourself, you can watch the read aloud version on this youtube link down below:
